Living in New York and inspired by their love of snow and mountains, the couple chose the breathtaking Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre as their venue. Nestled in the stunning landscapes of Whistler, this location provided the perfect backdrop for their celebration of love.

Honouring the Land and Culture at a Winter Whistler Wedding

We believe that every wedding should respect and honour the history and culture of the land it takes place on. The Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre is a place of deep cultural significance, celebrating the heritage of the Squamish and Lil'wat Nations. It was a privilege to help coordinate a wedding that acknowledged and respected the traditions and history of this beautiful venue.

Ceremony in the Snow

Jocelyn and Ashoat’s ceremony took place outdoors amidst a blanket of snow, surrounded by towering trees and a serene forest backdrop. The natural beauty provided stunning photo opportunities that truly captured the magic of the day. Guests were kept warm with hot apple cider, cozy blankets, and strategically placed heaters. Many attendees smartly wore boots and brought a change of shoes, ensuring they were comfortable while enjoying the stunning winter scenery.

Child-Friendly Celebrations

Jocelyn and Ashoat made their wedding child-friendly by arranging for two babysitters. Colouring packs, crafts, and games kept the children entertained along with a movie, allowing parents to relax and enjoy the cocktail hour without worry.

Cocktail Hour and Dinner with a View

Cocktail hour was hosted in the venue’s lounge, offering stunning panoramic views of the Whistler mountains. With a bar both upstairs and downstairs, drinks were easily accessible. The venue’s spacious coat room was especially helpful for this winter wedding, ensuring guests were comfortable. Dinner was served upstairs in a beautifully arranged dining area. The Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre’s staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience for everyone. They also have beautiful in-house chairs which is a rare find!

Making DIY Stress-Free

Jocelyn and Ashoat rented an assortment of stunning DIY decor. To make the setup stress-free, The Bridal Bar coordinator spent hours the night before unpacking and arranging everything to ensure timing was on our side the following day. This is one of our additional services designed to let couples relax and enjoy their day without burdening family or friends with setup duties.
